Transcript of Minuteman 320 Material Separation Adjustment:

Hi, I’m Brian Grisez with Edge Technologies. Today we’re working on a Minuteman 320 bar feeder and we’re going to look at how to properly adjust the separator arms. We’re currently looking at the V3 version of the Minuteman. Adjusting the separator is extremely easy. We’re going to loosen this locking handle first so that we can move the lever, which controls the adjustment position. You notice the bar moving as I move the lever. We also have an indicator here which indicates your bar diameter. You can simply move the lever until the pointer points at your desired bar diameter and then tighten the handle. Another thing to take note of is the bar diameter relative to the position of these two blocks. That’s what we’re adjusting as we adjust that handle. It’s very important that we adjust it for one bar diameter and no more. That way, we get successful and repeatable bar loads.

Now, we’re going to show this function on a Minuteman SE model, which looks a little bit different. This bolt right here adjusts the separator unit. We’re going to take a 10 mm Allen wrench, place it in, and rotate that bolt. You notice as I rotate that bolt, this arm moves in relationship to the front stop. The goal is to have the gap between this face and the face of this stop to be one bar diameter. No more, no less. Again, this is important in order to have consistent, reliable bar loads.
