Edge Technologies Minuteman 320 V3 Introduction Extraction Mechanism

Transcript of Minuteman 320 Introduction Extraction Mechanism:

Hi, I’m Brian with Edge Technologies. Today we’re looking at a Minuteman 320 bar feeder. We’re going to be focused on the introduction and extraction mechanism. So, today we’re looking at the introduction and extraction assembly on the Minuteman 320 bar feeder. We’re looking at the relationship of these components. And the reason is because it’s very important that several of these components are in the correct position in relation to each other in order for correct introduction and extraction as well as pusher removal and replacement. So this ramp, it’s very important that it’s adjusted correctly. This rear clamp arm is adjustable and must be adjusted correctly, as well as this bolt right here, which holds down the pusher flag into position. Also, the home proximity switch as well as the rear limit proximity switch. I’m going to actuate the mechanism, and you can see how they look when it’s correctly adjusted. and I’ll describe their locations and why they’re pertinent. So, as we extract, notice that the carriage pulls back and triggers the rear limit switch, but only momentarily. It does not stay actuated on this rear limit switch. It only actuates that switch momentarily when it draws back. It again actuates that switch momentarily while it opens or closes. That’s very important. If this carriage would remain actuated on this switch, it would not function properly. In that case, the switch would be too far forward. Additionally, notice as the carriage draws back to this switch for opening and closing, notice that this spacer is in contact with this arm. That position additionally relative to this ramp location allows this main pusher flag to come out of and go back into the carriage assembly.

If those are not positioned correctly in relationship to each other, the pusher flag would not be able to open or close correctly. Additionally, this spring clamp block is important that it works correctly as well. And there’s a set screw on the back side of this clamp that holds this shaft. If this set screw comes loose, this shaft can fall out and the shaft comes out and the spring comes out and this device won’t correctly hold the flag in position.

Notice that the position of this ramp collapses this spring and allows the flag to be released out from underneath of being captured by this plate right here.

Additionally, notice the extension of this bolt holds this flag down to place it firmly into the carriage.

That was introduction to extraction mechanism on a Minuteman 320 bar feeder.
