Edge Technologies Fast Tracks Patriot 551 for Midwest Screw Company to Empower Them to Meet Production Deadlines for a Loyal Customer
Compay Name: Midwest Screw Company
Midwest Screw Company offers screw machine products and tube cutoffs, including CNC turning, sawing and milling.
David Bradshaw initially started with a competitor bar feeder. But when he had to make a service call on one of them, he found himself up against repairs that might cost anywhere from $8,000 to $30,000, and a six-month wait time minimum. Also, this bar feeder was attached to a Mazak GTN 200 MS sub-spindle lathe for a repeat part for a loyal customer that only that machine could run.
“That’s what really hurt,” said David, who owns Midwest Screw Company in Racine, Wis.
That’s where Edge Technologies stepped in.
“The Service Techs Were on the Spot” for a Patriot 551
David connected with Edge about a Patriot 551. When he explained his situation, we sped up the process to get him back in production. David would call with questions, and we were quick to respond – within 24 hours, often sooner.
“The service techs were on the spot,” David said. “They explained everything properly. It was flawless, an easy transition.”

Nice and Detailed Touchscreen HMI Controller
David especially likes the new control for the Patriot 551, he said. The touchscreen is nice, and the controller comes with far more detail than his previous one. He can check how many parts are left and how much material is left. And he can also see when a bar is about to change to make sure everything is running smoothly. Green LED lights indicate when a bar change is going, so he can monitor from anywhere in the shop.
“It’s been a good experience,” David said. “You guys were great. I haven’t had any problems with the new machine at all. Couldn’t get any better.”
When the time comes to replace one of his other three bar feeders, “I’ll probably go back with you guys again,” he said.
